Grupo Ferrer originated from the chemical company M. y F. Ferrer, which in 1959, as a result of its increasing pharmaceutical activity, was renamed Laboratorios Ferrer, S.L.. In 1975 it became Ferrer Internacional, S.A., an organization which eventually developed into the Group's parent company. At present Grupo Ferrer is made up of 30 companies, and it has broadened its activity range, currently operating in Pharmaceuticals, Food and Fine Chemicals, with the overall aim to improve people's health and quality of life.

Grupo Ferrer operates in the Food sector through Exquim.

Exquim's Food Division is responsible for commercializing, both in Spain as well as in international markets, sweeteners, flavours and nutritional additives, offering product ranges of the Group's own make.
